Making a Difference Through Corporate Responsibility

As reflected in our corporate value system, UNFI Specialty Distribution Services' impact and purpose extend well beyond its customers, retail partners and the consumers who benefit from our business activities. We also make a regular impact in the community, on both a local and national level, by supporting United Way, as well as funding programs and initiatives at local schools and other community organizations where UNFI Specialty Distribution Services facilities and associates reside. We believe that it is our social responsibility to enhance the quality of life for our customers, associates, and society at large.

As an organization and on an individual level, we offer our time and money through a variety of organizations and programs including the following:

United Blood Services Blood Drives
UNFI Specialty Distribution Services has partnered with United Blood Services, one of the nation's oldest and largest non-profit community blood banking organizations, to provide the opportunity for associates and the community to donate the gift of life. Hosting four blood drives per year, UNFI Specialty Distribution Services associates and community participants share with individuals who are in dire need of blood. United Blood Services provides blood, blood components and special services to patients in more than 500 hospitals in 18 states.

United Way
UNFI Specialty Distribution Services offers its time and financial resources to United Way, the nation's preeminent community-based fundraiser that works to create lasting changes in communities and people's lives. Through this relationship, UNFI Specialty Distribution Services helps fund health and human service organizations across the country such as YMCA's, YWCA's, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, The American Red Cross, and the Boys and Girls Club, as well as special emergency funds and efforts. Each year, hundreds of UNFI Specialty Distribution Services associates express their generosity to those in need by contributing to annual United Way campaigns held at each facility and throughout the sales field.
